The International Biosecurity and Biosafety Initiative for Science (IBBIS) is seeking a Fellow to support our International Standards Initiative, with a focus on China engagement, international standards alignment, and DNA synthesis screening governance. The Fellow will work closely with the IBBIS program lead and the DNA Screening Standards Consortium (DSSC), contributing to work at the intersection of international standards, biotechnology governance, and biosecurity.
IBBIS is an international organization with the mission of safeguarding modern bioscience and biotechnology so it can advance and flourish safely and responsibly. We work with global partners to strengthen biosecurity norms and develop innovative tools to uphold them.
The Fellow will support IBBIS’s International Standards Initiative, with a strong emphasis on China engagement and inclusive participation in international standards processes. The role combines policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, coordination, and workshop design, with a particular focus on enabling meaningful participation by Chinese institutions and experts in global biotechnology governance and biosecurity frameworks.
The Fellow will work closely with the IBBIS program lead and the DNA Screening Standards Consortium (DSSC), contributing to international standards alignment, governance development, and multilateral coordination.
