IBBIS Executive Director Piers Millett discusses the Common Mechanism – an accessible gene synthesis screening tool for DNA providers – in an interview for the Council on Strategic Risks. Millett discusses the need for the Common Mechanism and why IBBIS, an international organization, is well-positioned to develop and provide this tool. “It’s easier when an international organization goes and builds it, proves it works, and engages everybody so they are comfortable with it, so they can see exactly what it is they are signing up to,” said Millett.
