This site is owned and operated by the International Biosecurity and Biosafety Initiative for Science Foundation (“IBBIS”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). IBBIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. This privacy notice explains how and why we collect, use, manage, export, store, and delete your personal data, and what choices you have in this respect. This privacy notice is in accordance with the European data protection law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

What data do we collect?

IBBIS collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information when voluntarily provided (name, email address, phone number, any personal data you may decide to provide through a text form embedded on the website)

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide IBBIS with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

  • Register for newsletters and/or events (name, email address, phone number)
  • Contact us through our contact forms (name, email address, phone number, any personal data you may decide to provide in the core text form)

How do we use your data?

IBBIS collects your data so that we can:

IBBIS does not maintain its own server infrastructure. Instead, your data is stored and processed through:

  3. Internal customer relationship management (CRM) systems for contact information and interaction records

We select providers who implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure.

Third Party Services

IBBIS may share personal data captured by this site with the following categories of recipients:

  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer data we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
  • The right to withdraw consent – Where IBBIS’ processing of your personal data relies on consent, you have the right to withdraw such consent previously given at any time.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. This timeframe may be extended to two months for complex requests. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before taking further action on your request.
