Prof. Aamer Ikram is a leading voice in global health security and biosafety governance, bringing decades of experience bridging science, policy, and public health leadership. He serves in multiple strategic advisory roles, including Chair Advisory Board TEPHINET; Vice-President IANPHI; Regional Technical Advisor EMPHNET; member TAG-Biosafety, WHO; Partnership for International Vaccine Initiatives; Governance Committee GAVI; APHEA. Previously, he served on numerous international boards including Chair Board International Federation of Biosafety Associations; member WHO TAG-Health Security Interface.
As Chair and Strategic Advisor within the IBBIS Technical Consortium, Prof. Ikram brings his expertise in building resilient health systems, laboratory networks, and biorisk management frameworks across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
