Biosecurity shouldn’t hinge on heroic manual effort. When screening, watchlist checks, and audit trails are automated and standardized, safety becomes the default – and innovation moves faster. That’s why common international standards matter: they let every lab plug into the same baseline of trust.

Kevin Flyangolts leads Aclid, a safety and security automation platform for biotechnology that helps organizations comply with trade controls, international biosecurity/biosafety regulations, and federal funding requirements. Aclid works with DNA/RNA manufacturers, research labs, and U.S. defense partners (biosurveillance), providing end-to-end workflows such as sanctions and watchlist checks, automated customer assessments, and real-time sequence analysis with functional annotations and risk scoring. Previously, Kevin held engineering and product leadership roles at IAC, Bloomberg, Blockdaemon, and PlaceIQ.

He is an active voice on operational biosecurity, speaking and writing about how automation can reduce risk while streamlining research and compliance (e.g., SynBioBeta, podcasts and industry resources).
