Ryan Ritterson is a biophysicist and biosecurity expert currently at Deloitte, where he leads work at the intersection of . He was previously Executive Vice President of Research and a Partner at Gryphon Scientific, one of the leading risk analysis firms in the field, before its acquisition by Deloitte in 2024.

Over his career, Ryan has worked closely with US government agencies, including DHS and DoD, on some of the most consequential biosecurity questions of the past decade, from Gain of Function oversight to synthetic biology governance to the emerging risks of AI in the life sciences. He co-authored the influential call for a US National Agency for Biorisk Management and has contributed to shaping federal policy on DURC and enhanced potential pandemic pathogens. He holds a PhD in Biophysics from UCSF and a BS in Computational Engineering Science from UC Berkeley.
